ori gersht/ isreali /1967Ori Gersht is an Israeli photographer born in 1967. Gersht's work explores split-second moments in time. Through his photography, Gersht suspends time for his viewer, allowing us to experience and explore a moment our minds and eyes wouldn't otherwise capture.

FUN FACTS!
-->The famous Galloping Horse, 1878 was a sequence of photographs created by by photographer Eadweard Muybridge. Muybridge set up a line of cameras with automatic shutters that tripped as a race horse passed by. Galloping Horse was created to demonstrate whether a trotting horse ever has all four feet on the ground at any point in time. This resulted in a series of images that when combined, recreated the precise positions and movement of a horse in motion. Muybridge has been celebrated as the 'Father of Motion Pictures,' and Galloping Horse last sold at auction for close to $500,000 |

- Suspend Time and Capture a Split Second... Find a partner. One of you will photograph the moment, the other will create the moment. You can use your body to jump, cartwheel, handstand, etc. (outside of course!) but try to capture it in the air. You can also use other objects around the house... make sure you ask your parents and caregivers before you start moving things around!
- Capture the Cause and Effect of liquid being disrupted. Try dropping different sized objects (non-breakable) into a plastic or metal bowl with water in it. Try to capture the moment the object hits the surface of the water and starts to disrupt it. (A secret trick on the iphone camera is to hold the photo button down to capture a sequence of fast frame shots just like Muybridge's galloping horses...start holding the button as the object is dropped, and keep holding it until the water completely calms down again. You can also use food coloring like Ok Go in their experiment below!
