A BRIGHT IDEA
FOLLOW THE A.R.T.S STEPS TO HELP KIDS
KEEP THE ARTS IN THEIR SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES
Write, fax, call, or email members of your local legislature, community council and state representatives. Ask them to make sure that the Arts are supported in the State Public Schools, especially in the Elementary schools that lack funding and support for Art Teachers in the school. Send a copy of your letter(s) and/or e-mails to the State School Board, and each of the School District Superintendents within your state. Ask them to support these programs within each of their districts and schools.
Volunteer at your local public school to help raise money for their art program. If there isn't an art program, talk to the Principal about starting one with the help of community members and the PTA.
TAKE IT INTO YOUR OWN HANDS
Donate money and supplies to support the art program in your local school.
SPREAD THE WORD
Talk to your family, friends and neighbors.
Ask them to repeat steps 1-3 to bring and support the arts in their community.
